Description

Koginsashi is a type of sashiko from the Tsugaru region. Traditional patterns (modoko) can be arranged to make a series of patterns, or combined with other patterns to create a different kind of pattern. This book is a collection of Koginsashi patterns recommended for those who want to make works with their favorite patterns and those who want to stitch more various patterns.

The book includes color photographs of actual stitches on cloth and bold lines on the squares to help the reader visualize the finished product. Based on the basic patterns of koginsashi, such as kacharaz, uroko, and tecona, the book introduces many arrangements to further enjoy the traditional patterns, such as surrounding them with simple borders, arranging small modoko like a frame, and placing some of the modoko on top of each other.
